The Arab Conspiracy

Courtesy of Eye on the World here is a must-see VIDEO made by a Palestinian about the 'Arab Conspiracy'.

From the author of this video:
"A Message to my 'homies' about the real cause of their misery. Some will listen, some won't, and some will surely send death threats, but I don't care. It's time for somebody to speak out."

The drawings seen in this video are by Palestinian Artist Naji El-Ali, who was assassinated on orders by Arafat in London for mocking him in his cartoons.

It is worth watching.

As if knotted fast at their roots, he somehow freed my arms.

When my lover came to bed,
the knot became untied
all by itself.

My dress,
held up by the strings of a loosened belt,
barely stayed on my hips.

Friend,
that's as much as I know now.

When he touched my body,
I couldn't at all remember
who he was,
who I was,
or how It was.

Honor Killing: Crimes Against Humanity

This is a MUST-SEE video of a brave woman speaking out against HONOR KILLING !

Honor Killing Among the Palestinians
Honor is everything," says Ahmed, a 52-year-old Palestinian Muslim. "If a person loses his honor, he becomes like an animal." A sixteen-year-old Palestinian girl became pregnant after being raped by her younger brother. Once her condition became known, her family encouraged her older brother to kill her to remove the blemish from their honor. Her brothers, the rapist and the murderer, were exonerated. The girl was blamed. "She made a mistake," said one of her male cousins. "She had to pay for it."

Even more horrifically, a four-year-old Palestinian girl, raped by a man in his mid-twenties, was left by her family to bleed to death. They did this because they felt her misfortune would sully their honor.

Heshu Yones, her throat slashed by her father.
For family honor, 'she had to die'
For family honor, she had to die European police weren't looking for this kind of violence steeped in tradition. They are now. They are murders that families whisper about. Heshu Yones, a West London teen, fought off her father for a frantic 15 minutes. She ran from room to room in her family home one Saturday afternoon until he cornered her in a dingy bathroom, held her over the tub and slit her throat.

Banaz Mahmod Babakir Agha, murdered by her father.
A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his daughter whose body was found in a suitcase in Birmingham. Banaz Mahmod Babakir Agha, 20, from Mitcham, south London, disappeared in January.
Her remains were found in a garden in Handsworth in April. Her father Mahmod Babakir Mahmod, 51, of Morden Road, Mitcham, appeared before Greenwich Magistrates' Court on Wednesday to face the charge. Her uncle and another man are already awaiting trial for murder. In May, the dead woman's uncle, businessman Ari Babakir, 50, also from Mitcham, was charged with her murder.

Hatin Sucuru, a young mother murdered by her brother.
"The Whore Lived Like a German"
In the past four months, six Muslim women living in Berlin have been brutally murdered by family members. Their crime? Trying to break free and live Western lifestyles. Within their communities, the killers are revered as heroes for preserving their family dignity. How can such a horrific and shockingly archaic practice be flourishing in the heart of Europe? The deaths have sparked momentary outrage, but will they change the grim reality for Muslim women?

Women are the Key to the Future.

WOMEN in the Islamic world have the future in their hands. There are no alternatives. As things continue to deterioriate in the Arab world, women unfortunately have the most to lose. The women's movement in America paved the way for the civil rights movement and this is why I feel that women in the Islamic world are the sleeping giant in the fight against global jihad.

Dutch member of parliament Ayaan Hirsi Ali has been threatened with death for writing the film "Submission" -- which is heavily critical of Islam and for which filmmaker Theo van Gogh was murdered in November. She spoke with SPIEGEL about her life as a fugitive, how to fight radical Islam, and the need for legitimate intolerance.

Syrian-American Psychiatrist Wafa Sultan, who's now world-famous interview on Al Jazeera where she says, "There is no clash of civilizations but a clash between the mentality of the middle ages and that of the 21st century." has been viewed more than 10 million times on MEMRI.ORG. She was named by TIME as one of a list of 100 influential people in the world "whose power, talent or moral example is transforming the world". Sultan is working on a book to be called The Escaped Prisoner: When God Is a Monster, and says she was shocked into secularism by the 1979 atrocities committed by the Muslim Brotherhood against innocent Syrian people, including the machine-gun assassination of her professor in her classroom in front of her eyes at the University of Aleppo where she was a medical student. "They shot hundreds of bullets into him, shouting, 'God is great!' " she said. "At that point, I lost my trust in their god and began to question all our teachings. It was the turning point of my life, and it has led me to this present point. I had to leave. I had to look for another god."

Nonie Darwish, another brave Arab Muslim woman ask's unapologetically, "Why are so many Muslims embracing jihad and cheering for al-Qaeda and Hamas? Why are even the modern, secularized Arab states such as Egypt producing a generation of angry young extremists? When she was eight, Noni Darwish's father died while leading Fedayeen raids into Israel. Her family moved back to Cairo from Gaza, where they were honored as survivors of a “shahid” – a martyr for jihad. She grew up learning the same lessons as millions of Muslim children: to hate Jews, destroy Israel, oppose America, and submit to dictatorship. Darwish became increasingly appalled, however, by the anger and hatred in her culture, and in 1978 she emigrated to America. Since 9/11 she has been lecturing and writing on behalf of moderate Arabs and Arab-Americans. Extremists now denounce her as an infidel. Darwish speaks out against the dark side of her native culture – women abused by Islamic traditions; the poor and uneducated mistreated by the elites; bribery and corruption as a way of life. She rejects a culture of bigotry and argues that the only hope for the future is for America to continue waging the War on Terror, seeding the Middle East with the values of democracy, respect for women, and tolerance for all religions.

Brigitte Gabriel, founder of the American Congress For Truth is an outspoken surivor of the Lebanese Civil war where thousand of Lebanese Christians were murdered. She is never afraid to speak the truth.

Voices from Tunisia

I'd like to focus now on some positive things.

TUNISIA has been a heartening wellspring of open discussion lately.

Tunisian Reformist Intellectual: Al-Jazeera TV - A Mouthpiece of the Muslim Brotherhood

In an article posted July 29, 2006 on the reformist website Elaph, Tunisian intellectual Dr. Khaled Shawkat, director of the Netherlands-based Center for Promoting Democracy in the Arab World, attacked Al-Jazeera TV because, he says, 'it has become the mouthpiece of the Muslim Brotherhood.'

Tunisian Philosopher Mezri Haddad: Islamists "Have Reduced the Koran to a Nauseating Antisemitic Lampoon"

In a blog entry, Tunisian philosopher Mezri Haddad attacked the Muslim world's tolerant attitude toward the antisemitism of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad; stated that there was no such thing as a moderate Islamist; and suggested that Muslims reinterpret potentially anti-Jewish Koranic passages, as the Vatican had done with similar passages in the New Testament.

Tunisian Feminist Fawzia Zouari on 50th Anniversary of Tunis's Personal Status Code: "In Tunisia, Women Have Become Just Like Any Other Man"

"I am Proud to Be a Tunisian, Proud of Having Turned my Back on Centuries of Dark Harems"

... I feel far away from my Arab 'sisters.' I say this frankly and without evasion. I am proud to be a Tunisian. Proud of having turned my back on centuries of dark harems and oppressive cousins. Proud of not traveling with a passport stamped with the expressions 'First wife,' 'Nth wife.' Proud of no longer expending my energy on trying to evade the vigilance of the men and on trying to steal a few crumbs of liberty. Proud, above all, of having the law on my side."This is indeed the great achievement of the Tunisian woman: a law that protects her against male arbitrariness and recognizes her as a full-fledged person."While it is true that other women in the Arab world have many rights, they lack laws [that allow them] to say it. While it is incontestable that they have made their entrance into the public arena, one fears that this presence is a mere façade. I, as a Tunisian, am wary of attenuated liberties and window-dressing."

UPDATE: The War Over the Veil in Tunisia

Jack Straw described the veil as "a visible statement of separation and difference"; in the ensuing controversy, British Prime Minister Tony Blair lent his support to Straw and made similar comments. In a related development, a teaching assistant in the U.K., Aisha Azmi, was suspended for refusing to remove her veil when teaching.

However, the most divisive controversy erupted not in Europe, but in TUNISIA, where the government launched a campaign to implement "Decree 108," first issued in 1981, which forbids not only the full veil (niqab) in public places, but also the less restrictive head covering (hijab). The controversy began with the state-controlled Tunisian media reporting statements by President Zin Al-'Abidin Ben 'Ali and his ministers against the head covering, in which they called it an "imported form of sectarian dress" - a reference to the growing influence of Saudi-style Wahhabism in North Africa.

At the same time, the Islamist opposition - in particular the banned Al-Nadha movement, the main Tunisian Islamist group - reported on a "Ramadan offensive" against women wearing the head covering, saying they were being forced to remove their head coverings and prevented from entering public institutions and universities. These actions sparked a wave of petitions against the government's activities -from both Islamists and some of the non-Islamist opposition. In addition, prominent sheikhs - among them Egypt Mufti 'Ali Jum'a, Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, and Abu Basir Al-Tartusi - spoke out against the Tunisian government. Al-Tartusi, an influential Salafi authority, even issued a fatwa urging Tunisians to overthrow their government.

The controversy has also led to a diplomatic crisis between TUNISIA and QATAR. On October 19, 2006, the London daily Al-Quds Al-'Arabi reported that the Tunisian government had closed its embassy in Doha to protest against a program aired on the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera TV that had hosted guests critical of the government's policies on the head covering. The next day, the London daily Al-Hayat reported that the Tunisian ambassador to Qatar had been called home for consultation.

In a related development, the debate over the veil also erupted in EGYPT after the president of Helwan University in Cairo, 'Abd Al-Hay Ebaid, refused to allow veiled women to enter university grounds. While the incident itself was minor in comparison with events in Tunisia - and concerned only the full veil, and not the hijab - it was nevertheless widely discussed in the Egyptian press. Coming against the backdrop of the controversies in England and Tunisia, it reawakened the debate on women's place in society, Islam and modernity, and the role of Saudi Wahhabism in the erosion of Egypt's indigenous Islamic practices.

'No Go' Zones in Berlin?

From Islam in Europe

Police in the German capital are on the alert for more trouble after a series of clashes with youths in three suburbs with a mainly immigrant background. The disturbances raised fears that parts of Berlin were becoming no-go areas and reawakened memories of the horrific clashes involving migrant youths in French cities last year.

They also rekindled the debate on how to deal with young people who see little perspective in a society that many feel treats them like second-class citizens. The clashes erupted on Tuesday in the Kreuzberg district when around 100 Turkish and Arab youths attacked police who detained two 12-year-old Turks caught trying to steal another teenager's MP3 player. The following night there were skirmishes after around 60 youths from Kreuzburg fought with a group of high school students in the neighbouring working-class suburb of Tempelhof. On the same day around 80 people in a mostly Turkish populated part of Moabit prevented an ambulance from taking a 5-year-old boy who had been injured in a car accident to hospital. The child had been knocked down by a motorist who left the scene and sought sanctuary in a police station. Police reinforcements were called in to allow the ambulance to continue its journey.

Berlin communal official Heinz Buschkowsky sees the problem as "a decline in values" that has led to a lack of respect for authority in areas with high unemployment and a large migration background. "It appears that law enforcement officials are now regarded as interlopers in some suburbs," said Frank Henkel, a member of the opposition Christian Democrats in the Berlin senate. Turks account for a quarter of the 464,000 foreigners who make up 14 per cent of the capital's 3.4 million population. Many of them are the children and grandchildren of immigrants who came in the 1950s. But some residents who witnessed this week's disturbances blamed police for exacerbating the situation by acting in a heavy handed manner and hurling racial abuse at the youths involved. Berlin police chief Dieter Glietsch said Friday that some of the officers involved in Tuesday's incident in Kreuzberg were being questioned in connection with the allegations. "We take such accusations very seriously and will look into them exhaustively," he told a press conference. "It is not often that claims of this kind are made against the Berlin police." He also dismissed the idea of no-go areas in city flashpoints. "We (the police) are visible everywhere and take action whenever it is necessary," Glietsch said. Opposition Greens politicians in the Berlin parliament called on the police to use Turkish and Arabic-speaking officers when called into action in multi-cultural suburbs like Kreuzberg.

Berlin politicians said the clashes bore no comparison to last autumn's civil unrest in France that was triggered by the deaths of two North African youths being chased by police in a Paris suburb. The city's senate plans to discuss the violence at a meeting of its internal affairs committee on Monday and Kreuzberg Mayor Franz Schulz has promised to hold talks with police, youth groups and community workers in a bid to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

Hate Indoctrination.

Can It Be Undone?

Millions of children in the Islamic world have been taught from day one how to hate America, Westerners and Jews. Take a look at the overview of hate indoctrinatnion that takes place every single day in the Islamic world.

Hizbullah Al-Manar TV’s Children's Claymation Special: Jews Turn Into Apes & Pigs, are Annihilated & Cast into the Sea

Hizbullah's Armed Children's Militias: Over 2,000 Children Aged 10-15 Serving

Hizbullah Recruits Children Barely 10 Years Old
According to Roz Al-Yusuf, "Hizbullah has recruited over 2,000 innocent children aged 10-15 to form armed militias. Before the recent war with Israel, these children appeared only in the annual Jerusalem Day celebrations, and were referred to as the 'December 14 Units,' but today they are called istishhadiyun ['martyrs']...

The Mahdi Scouts organization was founded in Lebanon on May 5, 1985 According to the organization's website, the number of [scouts] who had undergone training by the end of 2004 was 1,491, and the number of scout groups which had joined [the organization] was 449, with a membership of 41,960. According to the organization's most recent statistics, since 2004, 120 of its members have been ready to become martyrs. "The organization's goal is to train an exemplary generation of Muslims based on the [principle of] 'the rule of the jurisprudent' [a founding principle of the Islamic Revolution in Iran], and to prepare for the coming of the Imam Mahdi [the Shi'ite messiah]. Its members, including the children, undertake to obey their commanders, to bring honor to the [Muslim] nation, and to prepare themselves for helping the Mahdi [when he comes]."

According to the article, Na'im Qasim, deputy to Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, said in an interview on Radio Canada: "A nation with child-martyrs will be victorious, no matter what difficulties lie in its path. Israel cannot conquer us or violate our territories, because we have martyr sons who will purge the land of the Zionist filth... This will be done through the blood of the martyrs, until we eventually achieve our goals."

Egyptian Government Preacher Incites Children to Martyrdom

Egyptian cleric Sheikh Muhammad Nassar is a preacher for the Egyptian Ministry of Religious Endowment and hosts children's shows on Egypt's Al-Nas TV. In two recent Al-Nas programs on June 15, 2006 Sheikh Nassar told a group of children about little Sa'id, who yearned for and attained martyrdom, and about Allah's punishment of the infidels.

Egyptian cleric Sheikh Muhammad Sharaf Al-Din also hosted a children's program, which aired on Al-Nas TV on June 21, 2006. In it, he told of a Jewish woman's attempt to poison the Prophet Muhammad, saying, "The Jews are the people of treachery and betrayal [...] We want mothers who teach their sons jihad, the love of Allah, and His Messenger, [and] sacrifice for the sake of Islam"

And then there's Palestinian Child Abuse.
It just goes on and on without end..

An Islamic Life and Death Ocean.

Gates of Vienna has the story of Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury who is now on trial for his life in BANGLADESH for openly suggesting ties with Israel and friendliness with Christians.

According to the Asian Tribune:
Choudhury has been under attack by his government for publishing articles that warned his country about the growth of radical Islamists there, urged Bangladesh to recognize Israel, and advocated genuine interfaith dialogue based on religious equality and mutual respect.

For these “crimes,” he was arrested and tortured and his family harassed.
When his younger brother, Sohail Choudhury, went to the police to complain that he was beaten, they responded that it was the Choudhurys’ fault for their “alliance with the Jews.” Even after we were successful in getting him released from prison, Choudhury faced continued harassment from the Bangladeshi government and Islamist radicals.

... meanwhile
PAKISTAN, proud owner of WMDs is about to recieve a Delegation from the UN Security Council later this week to promote cooperation in the fight against terrorism. The visit follows recent adoption of a global counter-terrorism strategy by the General Assembly.

Back to Egypt.

This year, two days after the five-year anniversary of September 11th, 2001, I recieved an email from an Egyptian penpal of mine. We used to write fairly often and sometimes disagreed with each other with regard to politics and terror. He and I had different definitions apparently. Sometimes we argued a little bit, but it was never mean or disrespectful. He seemed genuinely interested in my point of view and I his. Either way, despite our differences we still respected the other. Last time we left off it was completely friendly as always. I hadn't heard from him in a long time so I was surprised to see his email in my inbox. What I wasn't expecting at all was what he said.

What is even more revealing was the second email he sent just an hour later which I have also posted here below. Here is a man, in the privacy of his own home and thoughts, writing an email letter and worrying desperately that someone might see it. But who? Who would be looking. Who would have his password? His own family? His goverment? What made me think of this and post it instead of waiting for another anniversary to go by, was the arrest of Abdul Kareem the blogger in Egypt who I assume is awaiting sentencing.

I have published my friend's notes exactly the way he wrote them. I changed nothing, not one word.

Profoundly Insane Iranian Nazi Midget Goes Nuclear

Its 1938 All Over Again.

As the world quietly sits on their collective hands, The Madman of Iran acquires nuclear technology while threatening the US and Israel with an armada of Islamic Suicide Zombies.

Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps Commander Yahya Safavi: "We Have Thousands of Martyrdom-Seekers; We Can Give Missiles to Friendly and Neighboring Countries."

Well isn't that nice.

Qods (Jerusalem) Day in Iran: "The Nation of Muslims Must Prepare for the Great War So As to Completely Wipe Out the Zionist Regime and to Remove This Cancerous Growth."

Do they talk about anything else? No offense, Iranians, but how the hell can you live like this?

Unfortunately there's more..

"Gay" Execution in Iran. Man Hanged for Sodomy In Front of Hundreds
An Iranian man named Shahab Darvishi was publicly hanged before hundreds of cheering citizens. Darvishi got sentenced to death after being convicted of so-called "moral corruption", as well as sodomy. His execution brings this year's total of Iranian death sentences up to a sickening 117. Amnesty International has said there were 94 executions in Iran in 2005. Capital offences in the Islamic republic include murder, rape, armed robbery, apostasy, blasphemy, serious drug trafficking, repeated sodomy, adultery or prostitution, treason and espionage.

Only 3 months ago,
Girl, 16, hanged in public in Iran

On Sunday, August 15, a 16-year-old girl in the town of Neka, northern Iran, was executed. Ateqeh Sahaleh was hanged in public on Simetry Street off Rah Ahan Street at the city center. The teenage victim did not have any lawyer and efforts by her family to recruit a lawyer was to no avail. Ateqeh personally defended herself. She told the religious judge, Haji Rezaii, that he should punish the main perpetrators of moral corruption not the victims. The judge personally pursued Ateqeh’s death sentence, beyond all normal procedures and finally gained the approval of the Supreme Court. After her execution Rezai said her punishment was not execution but he had her executed for her “sharp tongue”.

... and 4 months ago,
The Iran Student News Association has just released a new photo of the two gay teens -- one 18, one 17 -- hanged in the Iranian city of Mashad on July 19 as part of the Islamic Republic of Iran's lethal crackdown on gay people. This new photo, below, is even more gruesome and shocking than the previous photos of the two boys on the scaffold, and here it is from DIRELAND blog. *WARNING*

And all the while planning their next proxy war against Israel and the West via Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. Remember folks, these are the guys cheering the results of our mid-term elections.

The UN is Useless.

Hezbollah’s Missiles Back in Lebanon

FOUR months after Israel launched its onslaught against Hezbollah, the Lebanese guerrillas are back in south Lebanon stronger than ever and armed with more rockets than they had before the conflict, according to Israeli intelligence.

During the month-long war, which began on July 12, Hezbollah fired 200 to 250 rockets a day into Israel, killing 43 civilians and terrorising much of the north of the country.
“Since the ceasefire, additional rockets, weapons and military equipment have reached Hezbollah,” said an Israeli intelligence officer. “We assume they now have about 20,000 rockets of all ranges — a bit more than they had before July 12.”
Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, has confirmed the Israeli estimate. In a recent interview with al-Manar, the Hezbollah television station, he claimed his organisation had restocked its arsenal and now held at least 30,000 rockets, sufficient for five months of war.
Israeli military intelligence has warned the government that renewed fighting with Hezbollah, which it regards as a terrorist organisation, should be expected as early as next spring.

Assaults on Women in Cairo Exposes Deeper Problems.

By now most of you have heard about the horrifying attacks on women in Cairo. I am following as closely as I can with the help of many excellent bloggers in Egypt. I am moved by the concern for the women, despite what is being said about the police inaction. Maybe the Egyptian press wanted to cover it all up, but bloggers like Big Pharaoh and ordinary citizens took photos that captured the disturbing scenes. I don't read arabic, but you can get a sense of the event from some of the pictures from Wael Abbas who, according to this report at Forsoothsayer.blog was actually threatened at the scene by a POLICE OFFICER at gunpoint to STOP taking PICTURES.

True, we had a similar mob attack at one of the Puerto Rican Day Parades here in New York, but at least the police tried to do something. Unfortunately from the reports, the attackers in Cairo appeared to be much larger in number. The idea that Egyptian police stood by is deeply frightening. From the article here by Karim El-Khashad I am drawing another insight. Where a professor of political sociology Saed Mostafa Sadek says, "he believes this is a reflection of the retreat of the state at a time when Egypt is facing the worst social situation in its history." Also a shopkeeper said this happens frequently, but this time it got people's attention.

Here is an interesting article written by Dr. Elham Manea entitled, Diary of an Arab Woman For a Humanistic Islam.

I'd much rather like to think of life in Egypt as being more like this instead of like the photos shown below..

UPDATE: A woman who was there has started her own blog. See the photos and video.

Also, Rantings of a Sandmonkey blog has further coverage.

Stay Strong America!

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear."--Cicero

Even if Democracy doesn't work in your favor, America is still the greatest country on Earth.

God Bless the USA!

The Next War Will Be In Gaza

Hamas Chief: Truce with Israel is over.

Truce? What truce?

From Frontpagemag.com:
Palestinian terrorists rushing to a mosque to shield terrorist gunmen inisde the mosque were killed by Israeli troops. The terrorist shields were women. Never in all human history has a people sunk so low as the Palestinians to use religious shrines for terrorist attacks and to use their own women and children as shields for terror. Naturally the New York Times reports this as thought the Jews were somehow at fault rather than a sick Muslim sect and its followers.
Make no mistake, war is coming again to the Middle East and in the not so distant future. This is the
conclusion drawn by John Keegan, perhaps the foremost military historian in the world today. Hizbollah and Hamas are building fortifications for a missile attack on Israel to carry out their stated genocidal goals of destroying the Jewish state and establishing an Islamo-fascist republic on its ruins.

Israel Gearing Up For Second War With Hezbollah as Hamas calls for attacks on America.

Hot For Martyrdom?

By Michael Coren
National Post, Canada
Dr. Tawfik Hamid doesn't tell people where he lives. Not the street, not the city, not even the country. It's safer that way. It's only the letters of testimony from some of the highest intelligence officers in the western world that enable him to move freely. This medical doctor, author and activist once was a member of Egypt 's Al-Gama'a al- Islamiyya (Arabic for "the Islamic Group"), a banned terrorist organization. He was trained under Ayman al- Zawaheri, the bearded jihadi who appears in Bin Laden's videos, telling the world that Islamic violence will stop only once we all become Muslims.
He's a disarmingly gentle and courteous man. But he's determined to tell a complacent North America what he knows about fundamentalist Muslim imperialism.
"Yes, 'imperialism,' " he tells me. "The deliberate and determined expansion of militant Islam and its attempt to triumph not only in the Islamic world but in Europe and North America . Pure ideology. Muslimterrorists kill and slaughter not because of what they experience but because of what they believe." Hamid drank in the message of ihadism while at medical school in Cairo , and devoted himself to the cause. His group began meeting in a small room. Then a larger one. Then a mosque reserved for followers of al-Zawaheri. By the time Hamid left the movement, its members were intimidating other students who were unsympathetic.
He is now 45 years old, and has had many years to reflect on why he was willing to die and kill for his religion. "The first thing you have to understand is that it has nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with poverty or lack of education," he says. "I was from a middle-class family and my parents were not religious. Hardly anyone in the movement at university came from a background that was different from mine.
"I've heard this poverty nonsense time and time again from Western apologists for Islam, most of them not Muslim by the way. There are millions of passive supporters of terror who may be poor and needy but most of those who do the killing are wealthy, privileged, educated and free. If it were about poverty, ask yourself why it is middle-class Muslims -- and never poor Christians -- who become suicide bombers in Palestine ."
His analysis is fascinating. Muslim fundamentalists believe, he insists, that Saudi Arabia 's petroleum-based wealth is a divine gift, and that Saudi influence is sanctioned by Allah. Thus the extreme brand of Sunni Islam that spread from the Kingdom to the rest of the Islamic world is regarded not merely as one interpretation of the religion but the only genuine interpretation. The expansion of violent and regressive Islam, he continues, began in the late 1970s, and can be traced precisely to the growing financial clout of Saudi Arabia ."We're not talking about a fringe cult here," he tells me. "Salafist [fundamentalist] Islam is the dominant version of the religion and is taught in almost every Islamic university in the world. It is puritanical, extreme and does, yes, mean that women can be beaten, apostates killed and Jews called pigs and monkeys."
He leans back, takes a deep breath and moves to another area, one that he says is far too seldom discussed: "North Americans are too squeamish about discussing the obvious sexual dynamic behind suicide bombings. If they understood contemporary Islamic society, they would understand the sheer sexual tension of Sunni Muslim men. Look at the figures for suicide bombings and see how few are from the Shiite world. Terrorism and violence yes, but not suicide. The overwhelming majority are from Sunnis.
Now within the Shiite world there are what is known as temporary marriages, lasting anywhere from an hour to 95 years. It enables men to release their sexual frustrations. "Islam condemns extramarital sex as well as masturbation, which is also taught in the Christian tradition. But Islam also tells of unlimited sexual ecstasy in paradise with beautiful virgins for the martyr who gives his life for the faith. Don't for a moment underestimate this blinding passion or its influence on those who accept fundamentalism." A pause. "I know. I was one who accepted it."
This partial explanation is shocking more for its banality than its horror. Mass murder provoked partly by simple lust. But it cannot be denied that letters written by suicide bombers frequently dwell on waiting virgins and sexual gratification. "The sexual aspect is, of course, just one part of this. But I can tell you what it is not about. Not about Israel , not about Iraq , not about Afghanistan . They are mere excuses. Algerian Muslim fundamentalists murdered 150,000 other Algerian Muslims, sometimes slitting the throats of children in front of their parents. Are you seriously telling me that this was because of Israel 's treatment of the Palestinians or American foreign policy?"
He's exasperated now, visibly angry at what he sees as a willful Western foolishness. "Stop asking what you have done wrong. Stop it! They're slaughtering you like sheep and you still look within. You criticize your history, your institutions, your churches. Why can't you realize that it has nothing to do with what you have done but with what they want."
Then he leaves -- for where, he cannot say. A voice that is silenced in its homeland and too often ignored by those who prefer convenient revision to disturbing truth. The tragedy is that Tawfik Hamid is almostused to it.

The Islamization of Europe.

America, take note before it is too late....
By Abdullah Al Araby
It has been said, " Those who ignore the lessons of history are bound to repeat them." Another famous quote says, " History repeats itself." The moral is that people often have short memories. Whether we observe bad things happening to other nations or experience such ourselves we seldom learn the needed lessons. As time passes, all is forgotten and the same mistakes are repeated, over and over again.
When the topic of the serious ramifications of the Islamic invasion of America comes up, few people register sufficient concern. They underestimate the potential threat because they view the USA 's current Muslim population of 1%-2% as insignificant. The danger is that, like some Europeans nations, we will wait till the percentage figures doubles, triples or even quadruple before it dawns on us that we have a problem. Our government and our entire population would be wise to look, listen and learn from what countries in Europe are suffering as the result of unchecked Islamic population growth. If we don't heed the warnings that their problems represent, we will be sentenced to duplicating them.

There are many similarities between life in America and that in the Christian countries of Europe . The difference is the homelands of Muslims are much closer geographically to Europe and therefore the immigration invasions began much earlier. The Muslim population of Europe is now estimated to be around twenty million strong. That represents about 5% of Western Europe 's total inhabitants. France 's Islamic population presently ranks as the highest as it has raced to about 10%. The price tag for naively permitting that degree of growth has proven to have dire consequences.

QUEST FOR DOMINION
Naive and goodhearted Americans often complain and cite various reasons for rejecting any suggestion that the growth of Islam should be a point of concern. They figure, why criticize other religions? Why can't we all just live and let live? Surely, civilized societies should pride themselves on tolerance towards those of other beliefs and grant freedom of religion to all citizens. No one should care about how or what others worship, as long as they worship peacefully. Another test is whether or not a religion infringes on the rights of others. Islam misses on both counts. It's not peaceful because at various junctures it infringes on the rights of others to worship as they choose. Once it gains dominance, it is totally intolerant of other religions.
Such concerns might be invalid if they pertained to adherents of most any world religion, other than Islam. The thing that makes Islam different is the fact that it is more than a religion. Islam is a political, social, and economic way of life, cloaked in religious garments. Islam's strict observances and regulations are imposed on all Muslims and affect every area of their lives. These shape their attitudes and responses towards those of other religions. Full compliance brings the promises of rewards in this life and in the hereafter. Noncompliance dictates harsh punishments both here and in eternity. As a result many Muslims are willing to kill and to die for the cause of religious fervor. These factors, combined with Islam's inherent tendency to violence, make it difficult for it to co-exist in society with other religions.
Islam is never satisfied to be one religion among many. It has to be supreme; the one and only. " the (only) religion (acceptable) before God is Islam." Surah 3:19 Within Islam, freedom of religion is never an option. Allah says, " If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him." Surah 3: 85
Domination is the name of the game. Islam's objective is to obtain influence superior to that of all other religious groups. Its long-term agenda inevitably includes complete dominion over a nation. In free societies, as in America , they make no effort to hide such agendas. Omar M. Ahmed, chairman of the board of CAIR ( Council on American- Islamic Relations ) said once at a banquet, " I urge Muslims not to shirk their duty of sharing the Islamic faith with those who are on the wrong side." He added, " If you choose to live here, you have a responsibility to deliver the message of Islam. Islam isn't here to be equal to any other faith but to become dominant."
The plan for the conquest and domination of Europe has been at work for some time. Giueppe Bernardini, the 72 year old Italian Archbishop of the archdiocese of Izmir, Turkey, said something startling. " The dominion has already begun with the petrodollars, used not to create work in the poor North African or Middle Eastern countries, but to build mosques and cultural centers in Christian countries with Islamic immigration, including Rome , the center of Christianity."
Perhaps, there might be some European Muslims who are simply satisfied to enjoy the prosperity afforded them in their adopted countries and therefore don't mind accepting the status quo. However, there is a host of others who strive to see the traditionally Christian societies that welcomed them conform to the rigorous demands of Islamic society. The result is that Europe is undergoing a gradual transformation into a society in which Islam is not just equal to other faiths; it is the dominant player. This may not even be merely dependent upon increasing numerical strength. It may be solely driven by Islamist's innate desire to control societies. It is a strategy of Islamic leaders that is carefully thought out and concisely executed.

THE ISLAMIC INVASION OF EUROPE
Muslim Arabs were invited to Europe from Africa and Asia in the 1950's and 1960's to meet the labor shortages of Western Europe 's booming postwar economies. Subsequently, Muslim refugees seeking political asylum to better their lives drastically increased those numbers. The trend continued into the 1970's. The waves of Muslim immigrating from North Africa and the Middle East began to change the demographics of Europe . Muslim birthrates soared. According to U.N. statistics, the Islamic population of Europe doubled between 1989 and 1998, representing approximately 2% of the population. That number had again more than doubled by 2005, representing about 5% of all Europeans.

TROUBLED FRANCE
France has the largest concentrations of Muslims in Europe, about 10% of the total population. Its situation is a clear example of the influence of Islam on European societies. The French actress, Brigitte Bardot, laments the Islamization of France in her book, " A Scream in Silence ". A court accused her of "presenting Muslims as barbaric and cruel invaders, responsible for terrorist acts and eager to dominate the French to the extent of wanting to exterminate them." She states in her book, "There are many new languages in new Europe; mediocrity is taking over from beauty and splendor. There are many people who are filthy, badly dressed and badly shaven."
France has about 5 Million Muslims. The younger generations of French Muslims seem to have a problem with identity. About half of them are almost indistinguishable from other non-Muslims. However, the other half poses a serious problem for France . They don't view themselves as French and they also reject identifying with their families. They see themselves solely as Muslims. About 70,000 young Muslim women are subjected to forced marriages every year. Every year, 35,000 girls undergo Female Genitalia Mutilation/circumcision, or are under threat of the same.
You can't miss seeing Islam's influence if walking along many French streets. Parts of Paris look and sound more like an Arab country than they do European. Marseilles is racing towards becoming the first European city with a non-European majority.
The future is not promising. It is estimated that within 25 years, one in four residents of France will practice Islam. In an effort to maintain France 's traditional character, its government is strongly asserting the nation's secularism. In doing so, a fierce struggle with the Islamists has ensued. Towards that goal, parliament banned Muslim women from wearing Islamic scarves ( hijab ) in public institutions. This decision is causing uproar from Muslims, not only in France , but all over the world.

FRANCE IS BURNING
Night after night, youthful Muslims blitzed through the outskirts of the poorer sections of French cities. From late October and into November of 2005 much of France was set aflame by Muslim rioters aged 13-24. At least 350 cities were attacked. Police intelligence sources indicate that the Jihadists minded gangs plan to import the mayhem to the main streets of France 's primary cities, including Paris . Unquestionably, the authorities lost control of the nation and a form of marshal-law was enacted to restore some semblance of order. The sparks from those riots ignited embers of Islamic discontent in neighboring Belgium and Germany .
The riots were triggered by the deaths of two Muslim teenagers who were attempting to elude the police and were accidentally electrocuted in a poor suburb of Paris . The violence subsequently spread to other areas of France . More than 6,400 vehicles were torched and one man has been killed. More than 1,600 rioters were arrested. Schools, government buildings and churches were firebombed by the predominantly Muslim gangs. Though it was portrayed as race riots caused by official discrimination, it was in fact nothing less than a French intifada by French Muslims against France . Historically, France has been the most accommodating and liberal country in Europe towards Muslim immigrants. Its reward is exactly that which I have depicted in this volume, civil troubles. Innately Islam, the Quran and Islamic policies are predisposed to attempt to rule any nation that is foolish enough to extend overly liberal policies to them.
Unfortunately, this is not likely to be an ugly isolated and passing incident. The riots bear every indication of being the initial skirmishes of what will turn into a long war. These Muslim bands might retreat; if so, it will only be temporarily. They will likely fervently regroup later under the banners of experienced Islamic terrorists who will gladly inspire them.

EUROPE IS BECOMING EURABIA
Bat Ye'or is a history expert on the subject of "dhimmitude; " how Islam treated the People of the Book, Christians and Jews, throughout history. She originated the term "Eurabia" to underscore the growing influence of Islam in Europe . In a recent article titled, "How Europe Became Eurabia," she states:
"Beyond a fleeting awareness, the overwhelming majority of Europeans and Americans do not understand the new Eurabian entity, which is only the first step in a steady progression toward its Arabization and Islamization. Europe has evolved from ... a Judeo-Christian civilization, with important post-enlightenment / secular elements, to a 'civilization of dhimmitude,' i.e. Eurabia: a secular-Muslim transitional society with its traditional Judeo-Christian more rapidly disappearing."
The Islamization of Europe becomes more obvious as time goes by. Thanks to the Saudi funds, beautiful mosques are erected in large cities. Many Imams and staff personnel of those mosques are paid by Saudi funds. All over Europe , the picture is not pretty:
Sweden's third largest city is Malmo and for all intents and purposes is ruled by violent Muslim gangs. Some of its Muslim residents have lived there as long as 20 years and still cannot read or write Swedish. Muslims succeeded into turning a first world city into another third world, like the countries they came from.

Britain's Muslim population is estimated to be between 1.6 and 3 million. A substantial segment of young Muslims in the United Kingdom does not identify with Britain , but only with Islam. Such young men were behind the terrorist attack of July 7, 2005. In some areas that have large concentrations, Muslims are targeting churches for arson and their clergymen for physical attacks. The objective is to cleanse such areas of any non-Muslim presence. Muslims are demanding that names of local districts be changed from traditional British names to Arabic Muslim names.
Spain's Muslims have expressed their plan to recapture the Mosque of Cordoba . The building was originally a church that was turned into a mosque after the Islamic conquest to Spain . After the Muslim invaders were put to flight, it again became a Catholic cathedral.
Reports from Italy state that doctors are treating Muslim wives who have been flogged by their Muslim husbands.
In Finland , some imams preach on the Islamic duty to ... kill Muslims who convert to other religions.
The Netherlands has recently turned from tolerance of Islam to the exact opposite. The change of mind followed ... the brutal killing of the Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh by a young Muslim in November 2004.

The preceding were just a few glimpses from the big picture of present-day Europe 's landscape. The indications are that what was once tranquil and peaceful Europe is beginning to boil. The fire is fueled by the undisputed ultimate goal of Muslims to Islamize Europe .
Some Christians dismiss concerns about the possibility of Europe becoming Islamic before the end of the century as unrealistic and pessimistic. It must be remembered, however, that most Islamic countries of the Middle East were once Christian. Christianity was completely eradicated from many of these countries, while some still have just a symbolic presence. It is rather naive to presume that the same could not happen to Europe .
There is a lesson that America must learn from Europe 's experiences with Islam. Surely, it is indicative for us to understand something. That which is happening to our brothers and sisters across the Atlantic is subtly in progress at this moment in America.

I Am in Awe of Brigitte Gabriel.

I am right in the middle of reading Brigitte Gabriel's book, WHY THEY HATE: A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America. It's one of those books that grips you as you turn page after page.

She is the Founder of the American Congress for Truth.

What About the Kidnapped Israeli Soldiers?

Where are they? Why isn't the International Red Cross allowed access to them? I see no mention of them on their website.

Naturally Hezbollah is asking a price for them. Where is the world condemnation? Where is the outrage?

Beautiful Women of the Middle East

In fairness to my male readers, I'd like to offer this tribute to the beautiful and uncovered women of the Middle East. I don't have a collection of images of my own, but some of the best can be found here and here.

Irony of the Day

As Al Jazeera's ceaseless anti-Israel genocidal drumbeat bleats on and on...

Check out who Al-Jazeera uses as its satellite provider.

Where is this company based?
Oh,
Israel.

Al Jazeera is based in Qatar who does, in fact happen to have relations with Israel. Qatar is also home of CENTCOM. Qatar was also the the ceasefire broker in the Israel/Lebanon war. Additionally, a prominent cleric in Qatar said, "Palestine is Property of Islam". Qatar is also supposedly involved in negotiating the release Israeli soldiers kidnapped by Hezbollah and Hamas.

Anti-Semitic cartoons such as these appear regularly in the government-owned press in Qatar.
