A true American hero. Major General John K. "Jack" Singlaub is one of our nation's most storied and accomplished military officers.  His service in the United States Army from 1943-1977 included an assignment with the Office of Strategic Services that involved parachuting into occupied France to work with the Resistance to support the Allied invasion.  Other highlights of General Singlaub's extraordinary career include: a role as a founding member of the Central Intelligence Agency; uniformed leadership positions in, among other places, Vietnam and South Korea; and assisting President Reagan in defeating Soviet Communism's proxies in Latin America.

Please take the time to listen to General Singlaub's talk.  Most striking that he is more concerned about America now than ever before.

Gun Blogging at the Rifle and Pistol Range: Target Practice

Stopped into the Westside Rifle and Pistol Range today to brush up a little on my shooting. It's been a while since the last time so I was feeling a bit rusty.  The following four targets where done with a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle the full range length is 50 feet.

There's my target just sitting there waiting.

Target No. 1 at 25 feet.

Target No. 2 at 25 feet.

Target No. 3 at 50 feet.
I was a bit too high and hit the metal target holder.  The bullets and paint sprayed off the top.

... and then I pulled it together toward the end.

Target No. 4 at 50 feet.

 Not bad grouping!

Can't wait to go back!

Book Shot: Yep, Obama Ate Dog Meat

I stopped by the local Barnes & Noble at Union Square today.  Poking around the books displayed on the 'Featured Non-Fiction' tables I noticed this particularly funny title placement given the culinary history of the Indonesian-raised Socialist who occupies the White House.
It also brings to mind the question of why Barry's books are still categorized as non-fiction now that we all know about his 'composite girlfriend.'

Local Shots: The Campaigner-in-Chief Edition

It's always a pleasure to stop in to one of my favorite pet supply shops in Brooklyn, Pet Delight.  Especially when he puts up signs like this in his store.

The owner has a great sense of humor.  Last year he had these terrorist 'Russian eggs' on display.  I guess we can knock off the last one of Muammar Gadaffi now that he's gone!

Occupy May Day 2012 Insanity New York City: Union Square Park

I headed into the fray today to bring you news and views from the Occupy May Day Mobs.

It was a typical May Day in Union Square with all the Anarchist, Commie, Big Labor and Illegal Alien trimmings, only this time with extra Occupy.

WTF?? Red one-piece long johns with back door, check.  Tambourine, check.  Pacifier, check. I'm stumped. Please someone, anyone!, help me figure that one out.

When asked why he made this sign he said that he wanted to "dispel the idea that OWS is just a bunch of smelly hippies."  He was a nice kid and he had no idea of course that I was largely responsible myself for promulgating the 'OWS smells' meme after my famed trip to Zucotti Square last year.

His friend even showers twice a day!

Masks and costumery were the order of the day.

"Hello?  Central casting?
Your anarcho-occu-commies are here.
Where do we send 'em?"

Poughkeepsie?  Really?

Much more to come!

Occupy antisemitism again.
Note the Star of David in Obama's tie.

As is typical of any May Day or Occupy gathering, the only American flag present is defaced.

More coming up!

Here below is another video taken of the same event but shot from a different vantage point.
