Riding Out the Storm

I live in Zone A, which is the mandatory evacuation zone, so I'm waiting out hurricane Sandy farther inland on higher ground.  Hope everyone out there stays safe until this thing passes.

UPDATE: 10/30/12
Here are some pictures of what the city looks like tonight.  All of lower Manhattan is completely blacked out from 14th Street all the way down to the tip of the island.

(please click to enlarge all photos!)
Here above you can see the Con Edison building located at 13th Street, amazingly still lit after massive multiple explosions last night.  Everything below it, including the Freedom Tower is dark.  The couple of red lights that you see along the East River Drive are emergency vehicles as the road is closed.

The Williamsburg Bridge is lit on the Brooklyn side halfway across and then at the midway point the Manhattan side goes completely dark.

Political Street Ad: The "Yes We Cab" Edition

Spotted this Hope 'n Change-themed poster for the Brooklyn Winery in my area.  The way things are going for the Barky the Empty Chair these last few weeks, it looks like the wine will be flowing along with a raging river of liberal tears.

Barry Obama and Mitt Romney Presidential Debate at Hofstra University

'Obama' flashes gang signs.

I went to the demonstrations outside Hofstra University where the second Presidential debate between Mitt Romney and Barry the Empty Chair was about to take place.

The Occu-crowd bussed in about a hundred people.

You could smell the pot as they unloaded outside a McDonald's.

The mock candidate masks were actually sort of funny.  If conservatives had Barry in chains, the collective cries of 'racism' would be heard into the next galaxy.

Considering how much support Barry gave Occupy last year, it is an unrequited affection.

Occupy has the political street theater thing down, and the conservatives who came out had a lot of great signs.

One thing is for sure, there wasn't a whole lot of Obama love going on from either side.

Political Street Art: Barack Hussein Obama and Mitt Romney Wanted Poster

Spotted this 'Wanted' poster in my neighborhood today.  Not sure about the accusation of Mitt Romney of conspiracy to murder a U.S. citizen, he's not even president [yet].  On the other hand Barry the Empty Chair still is.
The flyer goes on to explain that the "above suspects are wanted accordingly for the crimes of  unconstitutionally murdering a U.S. citizen without due process that occurred in Al-Jawf Province, Yemen on September 30, 2011 and conspiracy to further challenge and revoke American Constitutional liberties using predator drones against innocent populations both foreign and domestic."

This is regarding the drone strike in Yemen that killed American al Qaeda recruiter and inciter, Anwar Al-Awlaki who was on the Empty Chair's personal 'kill list.'

I have to point out that four years ago any public criticism of Barry the Smirker-in-Chief would be absolutely unheard of around here.
The 'police' sketch seems to capture the lifeless, robotic qualities of the prime suspect.
Romney somehow survived the rendering with a slightly more human expression.  Since things aren't looking too good for Barry these days, they should probably keep this one handy in the event that Romney wins.

I Wonder What It's Like to Be an Obama Supporter

I saw this cringingly lame example of political street art in my neighborhood today and wondered what it must be like to be an Obama supporter. After Wednesday night's epic Rocky Mountain debate smack down by Mitt Romney, Barry's flock should be thoroughly embarrassed.  But, "Fuck Romney Fuck"?--really?  It sounds like what was probably sputtering through their minds as they watched their vaunted messiah implode so disastrously on national television--their Hindenburg, so to speak.  So obviously at this point "Fuck Romney Fuck" is all they've got to offer.  Wouldn't it be easier to just bite the bullet and admit that they were wrong?  Even the despicable, treasonous mainstream media is now being finally forced [dragged kicking and screaming of course] to admit that their guy is a total zero.
How things have changed.  I haven't seen any Obama street art anywhere around here and there's only a month to go until the election.  Just four and a half years ago, starting in the early spring of 2008, this part of Brooklyn was completely awash in pro-Barry propaganda art.  Most famous for the iconic and much-appropriated Hope 'n Change posters by skateboarder-turned-street "artist" Shephard Fairey, who is in fact, now no longer supporting President Empty Chair.

More Special Guest Photography from Richard Baehr: Gulf of Maine Gunsmithing

Another great sign from Gulf of Maine Gunsmithing in Raymond, Maine sent in by Richard Baehr, Chief Political Correspondent at The American Thinker.
In related news, hundreds of thousands of war veterans are still without benefits.
You can see more signs from Gulf of Maine Gunsmithing here, here and here.
